Anxiety is a brain dysregulation problem. Once the triggering event occurs and the brain waves fire, based on the intensity and duration of the triggering event (like if it replays over in your mind again and again), this will produce a response of your brain getting stuck. Your brain is like a muscle and it quickly learns to adapt. If you keep firing the same pathway, the brain learns that pattern and stays there. It’s like getting caught in mud or the snow- once you’re in it, you spin your wheels trying to get out. It’s not until you get a “push” that finally you can get out of the rut and back on the road.
